I’ve been putting it off for a few weeks. Not sure why, but I was. But, this past weekend I made the decision to register for the Kelowna Apple Triathlon.
This marks the 26th year that I have competed in this event, and every year I get asked if I’m going to do the race again this year. Many times I respond with, "I don’t know." Then people say, "Well you can’t stop now. Noone else has done every single Kelowna Triathlon"
This year was different though. As I posted earlier. I needed a goal to work towards. I had gained way to much weight, and it was beginning to affect my health.
By making the decision to train for the race, I am achieving my goal of losing weight. I am down almost 20 pounds so far. So this year’s race is not just about competing. It also represents a turning point. It’s a signal to myself that I am back on the path to health, and fitness.
Now, I’m able to even think about next year’s triathlon season, and I’m already planning on which races I’ll compete in. I’m really excited about that!
More to come later.
